The primary need for the customer was to save money while maintaining, and even improving, performance. Previously, the customer operated both a power plant and a district heating network, as well as supplying heat to their own industrial customer. Today, Nevel operates all Vatajankosken Sähkö’s plants from a centralised operating centre. With the savings, the customer has been able to focus more on maintenance, including using benchmark data to help with proactive maintenance.
Nevel is a trusted partner for Vatajankosken Sähkö. With Nevel’s assistance, the customer implemented the automation and digitalisation initiatives needed to enable 24/7 remote monitoring and operation. The customer has also reduced their use of fossil fuels, and oil is now typically only needed for balancing. Nevel has helped to make the supply of heat to Vatajankosken Sähkö’s own industrial customer more reliable.
Vatajankosken Sähkö and Nevel have been cooperating for several years. New ways of working have been developed in order to respond to our changing needs. Today operations of our heat and steam production including remote services mean more predictability while enabling more efficient use of our own personnel for facility maintenance – we can also reduce operating costs.
