Selected Group has entered a partnership with Nevel through RegEnergy Frövi AB, to operate the energy infrastructure of its existing and upcoming greenhouse in Frövi, Sweden. The agreement leverages Nevel’s strong expertise in utility infrastructure and material efficiency solutions – benefitting both the current tomato production and the new greenhouse under construction.

“This partnership brings an experienced and highly qualified energy partner into our team”, says Ingrid Schuster, CEO, RegEnergy Frövi AB. “Nevel will not only support day-to-day operations but also help us drive innovation and continuously improve the efficiency of our setup.”

Today, RegEnergy Frövi AB operates a state-of-the-art 100,000 m2 greenhouse, where tomatoes are produced using waste heat from local industry. Last winter, RegEnergy Frövi AB was the only local producer able to supply Swedish-grown tomatoes every single week throughout the winter – making an important contribution to both food security and climate-friendly local production. In parallel with the existing greenhouse a second 100,000 m2 greenhouse is currently in the final phase of construction. Expected to be operational by summer 2026, the facility will now be able to double the production of locally produced tomatoes ensuring year-round supply to the market.

“We are impressed by the Frövi concept, which is innovative and modern, representing a sustainable, domestic food value chain,” says Stefan Johnson, Commercial Director, Nevel. “Our model allows RegEnergy Frövi to focus fully on greenhouse operations, while Nevel takes responsibility for the energy infrastructure, performance and long-term reliability.”

Nevel will invest, on behalf of RegEnergy Frövi, in energy infrastructure to further develop and secure efficient, reliable and sustainable operations. Nevel will be responsible for operating, maintaining and optimizing the energy infrastructure in both greenhouses in Frövi. The agreement supports stable operations, future growth and the continued development of the RegEnergy concept.

“Nevel was a natural choice for us. They bring proven expertise in energy infrastructure across the Nordics, along with the operational scale and know-how needed to support this project.” says Frederik Gundorph Olesen, CEO, Selected Group, Board Member, RegEnergy Frövi AB.
