Pekka Ruohonen has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Nevel Oy. The position is new and focuses on pursuing opportunities to strengthen Nevel’s operational excellence in response to customers’ needs. Pekka’s responsibilities include setting operational strategy and processes, managing Nevel’s technology and asset portfolio; building sustainable, safe, efficient and digital capabilities and processes; and driving cooperation with Nevel’s value chain.
Pekka reports to the CEO Thomas Luther and is part of the Nevel management team.
Prior to being appointed COO Pekka was Director, Operations and Accounts for Nevel’s Industry business unit. Before joining Nevel, Pekka was Director of Asset management at Energy Division of AFRY Finland Oy, a company where he also held a variety of other positions.
As he begins his new role, Pekka states: “In recent years Nevel has been systematically growing its utility infrastructure services portfolio to better meet our customers’ needs in driving sustainable transformation. In terms of both sustainable energy and circular solutions, our responsibility is to ensure that the services Nevel provides fit the customers’ need in terms of availability and efficiency of resources. We aim to find the best solution in close cooperation with our customers and partners.”
