Nevel’s customers in the Nordic food and beverage industry include big players in the meat processing, dairy, food manufacturing and bakery sectors. The industry requires energy efficiency, energy production, water treatment and material efficiency solutions. Together with our customers we build a competitive advantage by helping them to fulfill their operational and environmental goals.
Companies in the food and beverage industry have high ambitions towards carbon neutrality alongside the need to comply with increasingly strict environmental regulations. There is also significant pressure to reduce carbon emissions from climate-aware consumers. The challenge can be improving resource efficiency to achieve carbon neutrality. Margins in the industry are often tight, so any opportunities to increase the cost efficiency of production processes can lead to a significant competitive advantage.
Opportunities to promote circular economy
As an experienced expert in cost-efficient and sustainable energy solutions, we can support the food and beverages industry with its transition towards carbon neutrality. The industry has good opportunities to reduce CO2 emissions and promote circular economy by utilising organic waste in energy production and by leveraging the untapped potential of heat recovery from cooling processes. With our help companies can free capital, focus on their core business and become more competitive.
Nevel’s solutions to reduce carbon footprint and improve profitability
Primary energy production – In collaboration with our customers we identify new opportunities to improve cost efficiency and sustainability by switching away from fossil fuels.
Cooling & heat recovery – We help customers to identify opportunities to recover excess heat and energy from cooling. Larger volumes of excess heat can even be leveraged as an additional revenue stream in conjunction with local municipalities, for example for district heating.
Biogas production from side streams – Identifying opportunities to use various organic waste side streams for biogas production, contributing to decarbonisation by opening up access to a new source of clean energy.
Industrial water treatment – We work with customers to identify novel approaches to purify wastewater to ensure compliance with regulations and to use sludge and other organic material from wastewater in biogas production.
Our partnership model
Planning, implementing and operating the required energy infrastructure is not a core competence of most industrial companies. It therefore makes sense for companies to focus on their core business while a trusted partner takes responsibility for energy production.
We design, build and operate new and existing energy utility infrastructure. We invest on our customers behalf so that companies can improve their competitiveness by releasing capital for their core business. We enable lower production costs, ensure optimized resource and energy use and support customers to reach their sustainability targets.
